Now that you have scheduled your bid appointment, we will come visit with you at your home or meet with you at our MaK office to discuss everything you want done for your project, including the following:
- Discuss your design ideas
- Review your drawings (if already completed)
- Discuss your timeline restrictions
- Take measurements

- Discuss the permit process (if needed)
- Discuss the architectural and engineering drawing process (if needed)
- Answer all your questions and concerns
Not all residential projects require architectural and engineered drawings, but if these drawings are required to obtain a building permit for your project from the local building department, we will discuss the requirements and process of architectural and engineering drawings during our bid appointment with you.
Depending on the scope of your residential project, some other services may be required to obtain a permit per the local building department, which may include the following:
- Soil Test
- Survey
- Plot/Grading Plan
- DESC Plan (Drainage, Erosion and Sediment Control)
- Septic Permit
- SUDP (Sewer Usage and Drainage Plan)
Depending on what the local building department requires, you can rest assured that we will handle and coordinate of these required services to obtain a permit, and we will let you know what the price of these additional services are before we commence with these services so that there are no surprises to you.
1. From STEP 2: After the bid appointment, our MaK Bid Department will calculate labor and material costs, determine project completion time frame, and then email you a Job Proposal for your project for your review.
2. If your project requires architectural and engineering drawings, we will review the final drawings and then calculate labor and material costs, determine project completion time frame, and then email you a Job Proposal for your project for your review.
3. If you approve our Job Proposal, the next step will be to sign the Contractor Agreement and fax or email it to us. We will then contact you to discuss a project start date that works best for you.
4. If you have questions or want to make any changes to our Job Proposal, please let us know and we will work with you to revise our Job Proposal as needed until you approve the final revision. Then, once you approve our revised Job Proposal, the next step will be to sign the Contractor Agreement and fax or email it to us. We will then contact you to discuss a project start date that works best for you.
If your project does not require a permit, skip to STEP 7
